June 30th was my last day teaching at Mozingo Music. I have been moving into my new studio at the Midwest Music Conservatory all week. I am incredibly excited to have the ability of not only continuing private one-on-one guitar/lessons, but I will be the Studio Director and have the ability to design Guitar Workshops and Guitar Ensembles.
Continuing to develop my curriculum-based approach to teaching the guitar, the Workshops and Ensembles will be logical steps for kids, teens and adults to learn the instrument. Working with Mr. Wagoner, the owner of St. Ann's Music Publishing Co. located within the M.M. Conservatory, I will also further develop the curriculum to allow students to advance through levels by fun and challenging tests and assesments.
With this approach, ensembles will be developed easier, parents and students will be able to chart their progress and at the same time have flexibility within the curriculum to select methods or pursue styles on the guitar i.e. fingerstyle/classical, rock, jazz, improvisation, country/bluegrass, etc.
Ill be over at the office today so I will take some pics and post them on the site for everyone to view. I have also recently purchased a simple HD vid/camera to capture students and ensembles performing completed exercises and songs. With the YouTube engine they could be viewed there or be posted on the blog. Keep on rockin' and Ill see you soon.
